Arsen Jumadilov, the head of the State Enterprise "State Rear Operator," which has recently taken on the responsibility for strategic military procurement, has found himself at the center of a scandal. Despite public criticism of the authorities, his familial and business ties with Russia raise questions about his access to state secrets and control over military supplies, reports From.ua citing "Argumentum".
Jumadilov is known for his loud statements regarding corruption within the government. His family is not far behind – his mother-in-law openly labels the president as a corrupt individual and a looter. At the same time, Jumadilov holds a key position in the Ministry of Defense, while his family has business interests in Russia, and his wife has obtained a Russian passport.
The scandal erupted after it became known that Jumadilov's spouse received a Russian passport in 2021 — just months before the full-scale invasion. He insists that the document was issued "under pressure" from the occupying authorities during her stay in Crimea. However, journalists have established that their divorce is fictitious, and the official's wife resides in Turkey, casting doubt on the narrative of "forced passport issuance."
Further questions arise regarding the activities of Jumadilov's brother, Murat. He heads the company "Atlant Service," which conducts transportation between occupied territories, Russia, and Ukraine. The list of routes includes flights from Moscow to temporarily occupied Berdyansk, Enerhodar, and Nova Kakhovka. The company also advertises transportation to Europe via Russia.
"Atlant Service" is registered in Russia, possesses the necessary license, and pays taxes to the aggressor state's budget. Prior to the full-scale invasion, the company operated actively in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, and has now adapted to the new conditions, maintaining access to the occupied territories.
In addition to transportation, the company organizes illegal financial operations. Clients can transfer funds to a Ukrainian card, after which the money is delivered to Russia or the occupied territories in cash. Such financial schemes operate outside the law and may be used to fund hostile entities.
Another point of concern is the funding of Arsen Jumadilov's education at The London School of Economics. The payment was made by his uncle, who worked in the FSB structures and held the rank of colonel.
Despite the disclosed facts, Jumadilov remains in his position and continues to oversee procurement for the Ministry of Defense. His responsibilities include making decisions regarding the supply of military equipment, food, and ammunition. The Ministry of Defense has not commented on the situation, and no official investigation has been initiated.
