Over 8,000 people in Dnipropetrovsk region contracted COVID-19 and ARVI in just one week.

From October 18 to 24, 8,048 residents of Dnipropetrovsk region were diagnosed with acute respiratory viral infections. This is reported by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Facebook, as conveyed by "Vidomo".

The incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections is at a seasonal level. Among the affected individuals, 53.2% are children under 17 years old, with 167 of them hospitalized. In total, 305 patients were admitted to the hospital, including 167 children.

Among the cases, 2.3% are attributed to COVID-19, including 23 children. A total of 38 patients were undergoing inpatient treatment. Additionally, 1 death was recorded from a laboratory-confirmed case of coronavirus – a patient over 60 years old, with pre-existing conditions and unvaccinated against COVID-19.
