The French tokamak WEST has set a new world record for plasma confinement.
Physicists from the French research and development center for energy, CEA Cadrache, have set a new record for plasma confinement duration on the WEST tokamak. The record stands at 1,337 seconds.

WEST has reached a new technological milestone in nuclear fusion research, maintaining hydrogen plasma for over 20 minutes at a thermal power of two megawatts.
This new achievement surpassed the previous record of 1066 seconds, set in January of this year at the Chinese experimental tokamak EAST.
