The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sibiga, stated that Russian representatives should be invited to the second peace summit to develop principles for lasting peace.
He reported this at the ministerial conference on the human dimension of the Peace Formula in Montreal,
Ukrinform reports.
“Yes, we support the invitation of representatives from Russia to the second World Summit, but we will never endorse peace initiatives crafted without Ukraine's involvement and behind its back. We will never support peace agreements at Ukraine's expense. We will never support a peace agreement that does not hold violators accountable,” the minister stated.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that “unchecked evil returns with greater force,” urging participants at the international event to “jointly stop this evil once and for all.”
Andrey Sibiga noted that it is hard to find another nation in the world that desires peace more than Ukrainians, but peace at any cost equates to “capitulation, occupation, deportations, and torture” – and Ukraine “will never agree to this.”
The second World Summit may
take place in India. Ukraine is ready to hear proposals from other countries for ending the war, but based on the Ukrainian format, President Volodymyr Zelensky previously stated.
When Ukraine's victory plan is
implemented, Russia could be seen at the World Summit. Then, discussions about the implementation of the peace formula can also take place, as stated in
President Zelensky's statement.
