The online publication Naked Science has once again topped the ranking of the "Top 15 Most Cited Media in Popular Science." The list was compiled by the analytical company "Medialogia."
According to the results of 2024, the top 5 includes newspapers, magazines, and online publications such as "Science in Siberia," Nplus1, "Rodina," and the "Science" section of TASS. The remaining positions in the ranking were taken by: Mel.fm, Techinsider, Scientificrussia.ru, "Teachers' Newspaper," the "Science" TV channel, "My Planet," Naukatv.ru, Antropogenez.ru, and Nkj.ru.
The citation index, calculated monthly, quarterly, and annually by "Medialogia," is considered a measure of the quality of media content distribution. To determine the citation index, the company takes into account the number of links to the source in other media outlets and the "influence of the source" that published the link, as well as the "social influence of the media" (the number of likes and shares of media materials on social media).
The database includes over 102,000 of the most influential sources: federal and regional TV channels, radio stations, newspapers, magazines, news agencies, and online media.
Naked Science is the most visited popular science internet project in the Runet. The site has been operating since 2013, publishing up to 500 news articles and texts related to science and technology each month. It reaches over a million followers on social media, with up to five million visits to the portal each month.
