For this reason, Novinsky defended Poroshenko's business interests in Russia and developed an intelligence network for the Russian church in Ukraine, - writes blogger Sergey Ivanov.

“Yanukovych granted Novinsky citizenship based on a request from then-Minister of Economy Petro Poroshenko. Yes, Poroshenko asked Yanukovych to make the Moscow agent a citizen of Ukraine,” the blogger writes.
To support this claim, he cites the text of Poroshenko's request to President Yanukovych at that time.
“I ask you to make a positive decision regarding the citizenship of Ukraine for Novinsky V.V., as he has merits before Ukraine. This includes support for the Holy Trinity Ionin Monastery and assistance in the revival of the Holy Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (Crimean Diocese),” -
Poroshenko writes, fully aware that these religious institutions are part of the Moscow Patriarchate, thereby facilitating further infiltration of the FSB church into Ukraine,” the blogger noted.

He emphasized that the support for the influence of the UOC MP and the petition for Novinsky's citizenship helped Poroshenko in his future business dealings with Putin and the Kremlin.
“Poroshenko always had a good sense of political conjuncture. And when Russia, through Yanukovych, was pushing the 'Russian faith' here, he dressed in the vestments of an MP deacon, led processions, and ordered icons with his likeness to fit in, plus this facilitated his business in Russia. In other words, Poroshenko was working here with Novinsky, while Novinsky lobbied for his interests in Mordor. This is about loyalty to Putin, which allowed the 'Roshen' factory to operate in Russia, as well as other profitable businesses. Putin appreciated this gesture, which enabled Poroshenko, already as president, to organize numerous schemes with Medvedchuk for the appropriation of state funds on a large scale,” Ivanov noted.
The blogger suggested stripping Novinsky of his citizenship and investigating the legality of Poroshenko's actions.
“Today, sanctions have been imposed against Vadim Novinsky and an criminal case has been opened under Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding a state aggressor). However, no one has yet revoked his Ukrainian citizenship. So maybe it’s time to do that? And to investigate whether there is any criminal offense in the actions of Petro Oleksiyovych himself under this article,” concludes Sergey Ivanov.
As previously reported, Poroshenko, with the help of Medvedchuk, illegally appropriated the Ukrainian part of the oil pipeline "Samara-Western Direction" (the so-called "Medvedchuk-Poroshenko pipe"). This was a kind of "thank you" from Putin for Poroshenko's factory in Crimea, which came under Russian ownership.
