It's not just Boeing facing challenges; Airbus is also set to reduce its workforce in the space sector.

Since the beginning of 2024, the American aerospace giant Boeing has faced a series of crises related to its aircraft and the Starliner spacecraft. In response, the defense and space division of the European company Airbus has announced plans to cut up to 2,500 jobs by mid-2026, citing "challenging business conditions."

The reduction in workforce will occur against the backdrop of increasing financial difficulties faced by the European aerospace giant, linked to its space programs.

Despite a robust order book, the company's defense and space sectors have been significantly impacted by supply chain disruptions. Losses are estimated at 1.5 billion euros.

The issues are primarily related to the OneSat communication satellite project, along with delays and rising costs in the defense sector. Additionally, Airbus recently lost two high-resolution imaging satellites, Pléiades Neo, due to an unsuccessful launch.
