Ground testing of the PD-8 engines has begun on the domestically produced SSJ-100 aircraft.
Specialists from PJSC Yakovlev (part of the United Aircraft Corporation, UAC) have begun ground testing of the PD-8 engines at the manufacturing center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

The powerplant has been installed on the experimental narrow-body regional passenger aircraft SJ-100 with serial number 95157, featuring imported systems. This aircraft will be the first to take to the skies powered by the PD-8 engine.
The dual-circuit turbofan engine PD-8 was developed using cutting-edge technologies and the latest domestic materials. The experience gained from creating the more powerful PD-14 engine was utilized in the development of this powerplant.
