The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has signed a decree to dismiss Andrei Kostin from the position of Attorney General.
The relevant
document is dated today, October 31, 2024.
Recall that on October 29, the Verkhovna Rada
supported Kostin's resignation from the position of Attorney General. A total of 255 members of parliament voted in favor.
Earlier, on October 22, Andrey Kostin himself
submitted his resignation as the head of the Office of the Attorney General.
This followed a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, chaired by President Zelensky. There, they
discussed the situation with the Medical-Social Expert Commission (MSEC) and the abuses by officials from various government agencies regarding disability claims. The President emphasized that the Attorney General must also bear responsibility for such a situation.
