The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, made his first official visit to Iceland on October 28.
The purpose of his visit is to support Ukraine's victory plan.
This is reported on the president's
Telegram channel.
“I have arrived in Iceland for a working visit for the first time. I will participate in the fourth Ukraine – Northern Europe summit and hold bilateral talks with its participants: the prime ministers of Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden. I will meet with the President and representatives of the host country’s parliament. I will take part in the meeting of the Nordic Council,” the leader of Ukraine stated.
Zelensky noted that discussions will focus on supporting the Victory Plan and on areas where cooperation can be most effective:
- funding for Ukrainian arms production and long-range capabilities,
- winter preparation,
- maritime security,
- limiting the Russian shadow fleet,
- defense support,
- training and equipping Ukrainian soldiers.
“The Nordic countries are our principled and decisive allies, and the Ukraine – Northern Europe platform is one of our most effective multilateral formats. We will continue to work together to realize its full potential,” the president wrote.
Let us remind you that the Second World Summit may
take place in India. Ukraine is ready to listen to proposals from other countries regarding the end of the war, but based on the Ukrainian format.
Once the Victory Plan for Ukraine is
implemented, Russia could be seen at the world summit. At that time, discussions on the implementation of the peace formula could also take place, as stated in the
statement by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
