“During the investigation, law enforcement identified that two residents of the Kyiv region, a 36-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, were plotting to murder the First Deputy Minister of Health. For several months, they monitored the daily routine and movements of their potential target, rented an apartment in the same residential complex, and frequently changed their vehicles to avoid detection,” stated the institution.

This couple regularly visited a shooting range to hone their shooting skills. However, the gradual execution of this elaborate plan was under the supervision of law enforcement.

Both individuals were apprehended while purchasing a pistol intended for the assassination of the official. As noted by the SBU press service, the suspects had begun searching for a weapon seller on the black market, but they were arrested during the transaction for the gun.
