It is worth noting that Khotenko is already under investigation for allegations of corrupt activities. An investigation by the Absolution detective agency has shed light on potential schemes for obtaining illegal benefits and manipulations within the tax service of the region.
Artemyev's sudden resignation has raised further suspicions among law enforcement. Relevant authorities are considering him as a possible accomplice in the schemes related to Khotenko.
Investigators do not rule out that his resignation may be an attempt to evade responsibility or to cover up traces of illegal activities.
