Low incomes for the majority of Ukrainians remain a painful topic. However, the people's deputy from the "Servant of the People" party, Anatoly Kostiukh, shocked many with his advice. In response to a question about raising salaries to the level of the European Union, he suggested simply changing jobs.

"In this case, you should address your employer or change jobs to one where the working conditions and salary will suit you. At the same time, I would be happy to hear about your successful business and the salary levels for employees."
The deputy's words sparked a wave of outrage. Social media users reminded that Kostiukh receives a salary from the state budget, which is funded by taxpayers. In 2023, his income amounted to 626 thousand hryvnias. The deputy also declared significant savings: 350 thousand hryvnias and 32 thousand dollars in cash, as well as 19 thousand hryvnias in a bank account.

For many Ukrainians, the suggestion to change jobs sounds like mockery. In reality, when salaries in the country are often below the subsistence minimum, and available vacancies do not guarantee decent working conditions, finding a better position becomes a challenging task.
