Shooting will commence in Ukraine for the controversial film titled "Why I Killed Bandera." This project will depict events surrounding the assassination of Stepan Bandera, the leader of the Ukrainian nationalist movement.

The State Film Agency has already allocated nearly 24 million hryvnias for the film's production, as confirmed by the tender on Prozorro.

The project was won by the company "Hanza Film", which committed to creating the film for a sum of 23.9 million hryvnias. The beneficiary of the company is writer Yulia Kravchenko.

The film will focus on the story of KGB agent Bogdan Stashynskyi, who assassinated Bandera in 1959. The plot will unfold around Stashynskyi's trial in 1962 in the German city of Karlsruhe. The climax will involve an assassination attempt by one of the OUN agents, Taras, who seeks revenge for Bandera's murder.
