And despite the ongoing military conflict in the country, local authorities have chosen to stay on track with their plans to enhance urban infrastructure.

The tender for the maintenance of 16 fountains was posted on Prozorro. The work is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025. A total of 36 million is planned to be spent on keeping the water structures operational, which is 6 million more than last year.

The tender was won by the company "First Rune," which faced no competitors in the bidding. It is unclear whether other companies had the opportunity to offer more favorable terms, but the fact remains that the winner will receive significant funds for the maintenance of the fountains.

The list of locations where the work will take place includes the most significant and visited parts of the city. These include the Sicheslavskaya embankment, historic streets like Starokazatskaya and Stolyarova, as well as the Taras Shevchenko Central Park of Culture and Recreation and other iconic sites such as the Opera and Ballet Theater and Uspenska Square.

Perhaps, in some eyes, this appears as a sign of resilience and a desire for normalcy, even amidst war. Nevertheless, the question always remains: is it not time to focus on more critical and urgent needs, such as security and strengthening defense capabilities, before turning attention to beautification?
