In 2024, the United States allocated nearly one trillion dollars for defense, which accounts for 3.4% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP). In contrast, NATO member states in Europe and Canada spent an average of 2% of their GDP on defense. Since 2000, Russia's military expenditures have increased by 227%, while China's have surged by 566%.
