A Chinese scientist has unveiled a plan to build a solar power station in space.
A rocket engineering expert and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Long Lehao, has unveiled an ambitious plan to utilize super-heavy rockets for the construction of solar power stations in space.

Space power stations will be able to continuously collect solar energy and then transmit it to Earth, providing uninterrupted electricity supply.
According to the scientist, Chinese specialists are working on this "incredible" project, which involves installing a solar panel that is one kilometer wide. To send such a device into low Earth orbit, a next-generation reusable rocket, the “Long March-9,” will be required. This rocket is intended to help construct a solar power station in space.
Long Lehao stated that this project is as significant as the construction of the world's largest hydropower plant, the "Three Gorges," located in central China. Its electricity generation capacity is approximately 100 billion kilowatt-hours per year.
