Saudi Arabia has launched the world's longest driverless metro system.
The Riyadh autonomous metro network commenced operations on December 1 with the launch of three new lines (an additional line is set to open in January, followed by two more soon after). The metro spans a total length of 176 kilometers, featuring six lines and 84 stations, connecting all major locations in the capital, including King Khalid International Airport.

This network has become one of the largest public transportation systems in the world and the biggest autonomous transport system, designed to carry up to 3.6 million passengers daily.
