Saudi Arabia has launched the world's longest driverless metro system.

The Riyadh autonomous metro network commenced operations on December 1 with the launch of three new lines (an additional line is set to open in January, followed by two more soon after). The metro spans a total length of 176 kilometers, featuring six lines and 84 stations, connecting all major locations in the capital, including King Khalid International Airport.
