On the night of February 18 to 19, the Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched 23 new Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit, taking off from the Space Force base at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
This marked the 21st launch of 2025 for SpaceX, and the 16th flight for the first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket, which landed on the drone ship named Just Read the Instructions eight minutes after liftoff, stationed off the coast of the Bahamas.
The new landing site will enable SpaceX to utilize an optimal flight trajectory and conserve fuel, enhancing the performance of the Falcon 9 and allowing for the deployment of more satellites, as well as facilitating the launch of polar crewed missions, such as Fram2.
