Virgin Galactic has begun assembling its new spaceplane.

The space company of British billionaire Richard Branson announced that it will commence the assembly of its first next-generation suborbital spaceplane, Delta SpaceShip, in March at its new facility in Mesa, Arizona.

This will enable the company to begin test flights in spring 2026, with commercial flights starting in mid-2026.

According to Virgin Galactic, the Delta spaceplane will be capable of conducting up to 125 flights per year.

Once the number of Delta Class spaceplanes increases to four, Virgin Galactic will be able to conduct 275 flights annually, generating a revenue of $990 million.
