Yuri Kovalev, the first deputy prosecutor of the Kirovohrad region, has filed a lawsuit to secure pension payments for years of service. At 36 years old, he aims to receive 90% of his salary as a pension.

SubscribeAccording to information provided by "Anti-Corruption Measurement," Kovalev submitted his claim to the Kharkiv District Administrative Court on August 15, 2024. He is contesting the denial from the Pension Fund and is asking the court to award him a pension based on his salary, which includes both base pay and allowances.
Kovalev cites Ukrainian law that allows prosecutors to receive pensions for years of service, regardless of their age. In his lawsuit, he also requests that the pension be determined without a cap on the maximum salary and free from taxation.
What is known about Kovalev?
Yuri Kovalev began his career in the prosecutor's office in 2011. To qualify for a pension based on years of service, specific work experience is required, which, according to available information, he has not yet accumulated.

He is suspected of demanding $13,500 for his services in "protecting" against criminal liability.
His declaration lists cars valued in millions of hryvnias and significant amounts of cash. As of now, the court has not yet reached a decision regarding his lawsuit.
