An accident on Earth has halted the study of the Sun.
Researchers will be unable to process a significant portion of the data collected by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) and the IRIS spacecraft for some time. This disruption is due to flooding in the data center at Stanford University in California, where the servers that handle and distribute information from these space instruments are located.

As it became known, a pipe burst in the server room of Stanford University caused flooding in part of the laboratory and damaged equipment.
Researchers reported that repairs will not be completed until next year. Until then, the machines will be unable to process new data collected by SDO and IRIS.
