The military concluded that the mysterious sounds were linked to the activities of Russian unmanned submarines, which allegedly left a listening device. This device was intended to record the acoustic signatures of British submarines to facilitate their tracking. However, as reported by The Sun, after analyzing the sounds, the military determined that the cause was actually whale flatulence.
This isn't the first instance where Western military forces have raised alarms due to whales. Previously, the title of "Russian spy" was attributed to a beluga whale named Hvaldimir.
