During the seventh test flight on November 5, which lasted 55 minutes, the XB-1 reached an altitude of 7,015 meters and a new maximum speed of 1,012 kilometers per hour. This marked a significant milestone on the journey toward the goal of breaking the sound barrier.
According to an announcement from Boom Supersonic, the seventh flight was aimed at testing cabin pressure to ensure the safety of the pilot and crew as the XB-1 approaches supersonic speeds and higher altitudes.
The XB-1 has three more planned subsonic test flights to complete, designed to validate the flight characteristics and handling of the XB-1 before attempting to reach supersonic speeds.
