The European Vega-C rocket successfully completed its first flight after the 2022 accident.

The lightweight four-stage Vega-C rocket from the European Space Agency (ESA) launched on December 6 from the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana, successfully placing the Sentinel-1C Earth observation satellite into orbit.

This was the third launch of Vega-C and the first since the complete loss of its payload, which included the Pléiades Neo 5 and Pléiades Neo 6 satellites, due to a failure in the rocket's second stage in December 2022.

Sentinel-1C is designed to collect data on the condition of the Earth's and ocean's surface, as well as to monitor areas affected by natural disasters.
