Photo: A glimpse of the Magellanic Clouds as seen from the International Space Station.
NASA astronaut Don Pettit shared images of two galaxies — the Milky Way's companions — on social media platform X. He captured these stunning photographs from aboard the International Space Station.
In the lens of the astronaut's camera, the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy is captured, located 50 kiloparsecs away from the Milky Way, along with the Small Magellanic Cloud, situated 56 kiloparsecs from our Galaxy.
