The Hubble Telescope captured an image of a galaxy that resembles a gigantic eye.

Astronomers from the European Space Agency (ESA) have released a new image of the spiral galaxy NGC 2566. This galaxy is located 76 million light-years away from Earth, in the direction of the constellation Crater.

A noticeable band of stars stretches across the center of the galaxy NGC 2566, with spiral arms extending from each end. Since NGC 2566 is slightly tilted relative to the observer, its disk takes on an almond shape, which gives the galaxy a resemblance to the human eye.

This image of NGC 2566 was captured as part of a study of star clusters and regions of active star formation.
