The publication The Metro reported that the estimated cost of a tunnel connecting the UK to the US is £15.5 trillion (slightly over two quadrillion rubles). The issue extends beyond just funding.
Due to the complexity and scale of the project, its completion would take decades. A similar tunnel, the Channel Tunnel connecting the UK and France, took six years to construct, despite being approximately 100 times shorter.
The concept of a "Transatlantic Tunnel" has been around for many years, and as some engineers point out, advancements in vacuum tube technology have made this idea more feasible. By creating a vacuum within the tunnel and using airtight vehicles that could theoretically reach speeds of over 5,500 kilometers per hour, such a journey could become a reality.
