The Jinzhou Bay Airport will serve the city of Dalian, which, due to its location, has become a hub for trade with neighboring Japan and South Korea. Situated on a peninsula in the northern part of the Bohai Strait, the city, with a population of over six million, has evolved into a major center for shipping, oil refining, and coastal tourism.
According to data from the provincial government, the Jinzhou Bay Airport will ultimately feature four runways and a massive terminal covering 900,000 square meters.
The project is slated for completion by 2035.
