China has launched its first amphibious ship equipped with a catapult for deploying modern drones.

On December 27th, China launched its first super-large amphibious assault ship, designated "Type 076," named "Sichuan." This vessel stands out from other large deck amphibious ships as it features a catapult for launching modern unmanned aerial vehicles.

The vessel is equipped with a full-sized flight deck and is designed with a two-island configuration for its superstructure. It can transport aircraft, helicopters, and amphibious vehicles.

"Sichuan" is armed with three Type 1130 naval gun systems (on the sides and at the stern), three launchers for the short-range air defense missile system "Haihongqi-10" (on the navigation bridge and at the stern), and launchers for deploying decoy targets "Type 724-4".
