The transport drone was developed by the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). The CH-YH1000 has a payload capacity of approximately 1000 kilograms, a maximum altitude of 8000 meters, and a flight duration of around 10 hours.

This cargo UAV is capable not only of taking off and landing on a tricycle landing gear, but it can also be adapted for operations on water, taking off and landing using a pair of pontoons attached to both sides of the lower fuselage. This will enable the CH-YH1000 to be used for search and rescue, reconnaissance, and anti-submarine missions, including for the benefit of the Chinese military.
