Disturbing news has emerged from Poltava. A conflict occurred at a local restaurant involving a local businessman, his friends—including a police officer—and a girl whom the group began to harass. A young man who tried to defend his girlfriend was beaten up.

According to journalists, the incident took place on Saturday, November 2, at around 21:20 at the "Shade" restaurant on Pylypa Orlyk Street.
How the conflict started
A girl named Elena was sitting with her boyfriend in the hall, while a group of four men nearby took notice of her and began discussing her.

Elena stated that Alexander Pereli approached her and said, "Hey, you’re coming with us." The girl replied that she wasn't interested in meeting new people and that she had a boyfriend. To which he responded, "We don't care, you’re coming with us." Elena's boyfriend stepped in to defend her, but he was grabbed by four men and beaten right inside the establishment. An ambulance took the injured man to the City Hospital No. 1. He suffered a broken nose, concussion, and blood in his kidneys.
In a video provided to the editorial staff, representatives of the security firm "Yavir-2000" can be seen watching the fight outside but doing almost nothing to stop it.
According to Elena, when she requested the restaurant staff to call the police and an ambulance, they did nothing.
"Elena stated that the owner of the Shade restaurant, MP Marianna Soliman, initially refused to provide the police with video footage from the surveillance cameras. Later, Marianna Soliman got in touch and claimed that she had been threatened," journalists assert.
Response from the National Police
In connection with this incident, the investigation department of the Poltava district police, under the procedural guidance of the Poltava district prosecutor's office, has initiated a criminal case under part 1 of article 125 (Intentional minor bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The prosecutor's office has currently assigned the investigation of this criminal case to the State Bureau of Investigations. Therefore, the criminal case has been forwarded to the SBI for pre-trial investigation.
The police leadership in the region has also initiated a service investigation regarding this matter, during which the disciplinary commission of the Main Department of the National Police in Poltava region is conducting a thorough review. During the service investigation, the police officer present at the scene of the conflict has been suspended from duty.
