According to data from the newspaper The New York Times, concerns regarding Musk's reporting have led to investigations by the Air Force, the Office of the Deputy Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, and the Defense Department's Office of the Inspector General.
However, none of the federal agencies have yet accused the billionaire of disclosing classified information.
Three years ago, Musk obtained access to highly classified information related to the launch of secret devices for the National Reconnaissance Office and the provision of encrypted communication and surveillance activities using Starshield satellites.
Nevertheless, SpaceX has not ensured that Musk adhered to the reporting requirements associated with his trips to China and his participation in diplomatic meetings between the United States and some of its allies, including Israel.
