The Progress spacecraft has protected the ISS from space debris for the second time this week.

On November 25, the Russian cargo spacecraft "Progress," which is docked to the International Space Station (ISS), executed an emergency engine burn lasting approximately 3.5 minutes to safeguard the orbital outpost from a piece of space debris.
«Прогресс» вновь защитил МКС от космического мусора, это уже второй случай за неделю.

According to "Roscosmos," the engines of the "Progress" raised the station's orbit by approximately 500 meters.

A similar operation was carried out by "Progress" on November 19: this maneuver helped the ISS avoid a collision with debris from an inactive meteorological satellite that disintegrated in 2015.

Such maneuvers are not uncommon for the International Space Station. According to an analysis conducted by NASA in December 2022, the ISS has evaded debris 32 times since its launch in 1999.
