Recently, specialists from Elon Musk's company recovered debris and parts of the Starship equipment for analysis and preparation for future testing of the transport system.
Among the retrieved equipment were tanks, heat-resistant cladding, and metal fragments. They were transported to the port of Western Australia for further examination.
The analysis of the debris will enable engineers to gain a better understanding of how Starship withstands high temperatures and stresses during atmospheric re-entry, allowing for modifications and improvements to the heat shield design. Studying the heat-resistant tiles that passed the tests helps identify defects that would have gone unnoticed during remote monitoring.
