Scientists have discovered the composition of the "mysterious" black balls found on a beach in Australia.
In mid-October, authorities closed the Kugi beach in Sydney due to the discovery of hundreds of black balls along the shore. Researchers from the University of New South Wales collected samples for testing and conducted their investigation.

It turned out that the balls are made up of a mixture of soap, vegetable oil, and drugs. This unusual composition confirmed that the contamination did not occur due to an oil spill, as previously thought, but rather from domestic sources.
Researchers suggested that the balls may have formed in the urban sewer system. However, they have not yet been able to determine the origin of the balls or the reason they ended up on the beach.
