$1 billion from the World Bank for the development of the healthcare sector. These funds are essential for priority financing under the medical guarantees program.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this in a Telegram message.

As Shmyhal noted, the funds will be provided as part of the THRIVE project, which aims to assist in reforming the healthcare system and enhancing its efficiency amid the war.

According to him, the financing for the program is being facilitated by the Japanese government, the World Bank, and a grant from the URTF fund.

Shmyhal stated that THRIVE is part of a broader international support initiative for Ukraine, which also includes education, transportation, energy, agriculture, and other sectors affected by Russian aggression.

Additionally, Ukraine plans to receive $20 billion from the United States through a special World Bank fund. These funds will not need to be repaid if Ukraine does not receive reparations from Russia.

The U.S. government has agreed to contribute its share of $20 billion to the overall G7 loan for Ukraine, which will be provided under guarantees from profits generated from frozen Russian assets.

Prior to this, on October 23, the EU Council completed the approval process for a macro-financial loan of €35 billion to Ukraine, funded by frozen Russian assets.
