The leader of the German opposition has arrived in Kyiv.

This is reported by the German channel MDR.

Merz has arrived in Ukraine for the second time since the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation in February 2022. "I came to Kyiv to assure the Ukrainian people and the government of Ukraine that our political force, CDU/CSU, stands with them," he commented on his current visit.

Let us remind you that Friedrich Merz announced his visit to the Ukrainian capital a few days ago, on December 5.

It is also noteworthy that last week, another candidate for the post of Chancellor of Germany in the upcoming elections, the current head of government Olaf Scholz, visited Kyiv. This was his first visit in two and a half years.
