One of the world's most powerful offshore wind turbines has malfunctioned in China.
Chinese company Mingyang Smart Energy announced that two blades of its 20-megawatt offshore wind turbine prototype have broken.

According to data from Mingyang Smart Energy, the turbine installed in Hainan was tested under extreme conditions. During these tests, its blades encountered "anomalous" conditions that exceeded their maximum calculated load.
This refers to the MySE18.X-20MW turbine prototype, designed for deployment in areas with medium to high wind speeds. It is suitable for locations prone to typhoons, as it can withstand wind speeds of up to 79.8 meters per second.
