A student in Ternovka defended a girl's honor and will pay for it: he is required to compensate the victims with 30,000 hryvnias.

In August 2023, an incident occurred in the city of Ternovka that garnered significant public attention. A minor student from a lyceum, in defense of his girlfriend's honor, became involved in a conflict with another couple. What began as a verbal dispute quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. As a result, the young man who defended his girlfriend has been ordered to pay a fine. This is the court's decision, reports "Vydomo".

According to the prosecution, the young man, being aware of a prior conflict between his girlfriend and the victims, intentionally approached the café-bar "Korchma". In an emotionally charged state, he struck the victims multiple times, causing them bodily harm.

Defendant's and his mother's stance

During the court proceedings, the defendant admitted to hitting the victims but justified his actions as a desire to protect his girlfriend's honor and dignity. He claimed that one of the victims was intoxicated and provoked him into the conflict.

The defendant's mother also testified in court, expressing regret over the incident. She emphasized that her son had always been a law-abiding citizen and committed this offense out of noble intentions.

Court's decision

The court found the minor guilty of committing criminal offenses as outlined in Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional minor bodily harm).

As punishment, he was fined 1020 hryvnias.

Additionally, the court ordered the defendant to pay the victims compensation for moral damages, totaling 30 thousand hryvnias.
