In Odesa, a law enforcement officer will face trial for attempting to establish a channel for smuggling draft evaders.

The State Bureau of Investigations, in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine, has completed the pre-trial investigation concerning a law enforcement officer from the Odesa region who attempted to illegally transport conscript-age men to the unrecognized Transnistria.

The indictment has already been submitted to the court.



The investigation revealed that the official began his activities in September of last year. Utilizing his knowledge of the border area and the locations of checkpoints, he organized a scheme for illegal departures. He sought men wishing to avoid mobilization through social media, demanding $6,500 from each for his services. He was assisted by accomplices who transported the evaders to the border.



The law enforcement officer was caught red-handed while attempting to smuggle four conscripts. He will now face trial.



Previously in Vinnytsia, a director of a municipal institution and two doctors were informed of suspicion for receiving unlawful benefits in exchange for declaring a serviceman unfit for duty.



The High Anti-Corruption Court found guilty an entrepreneur for bribing the former head of the Chernivtsi Regional Council and ordered him to transfer ₴15 million of the over ₴83 million fine to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.



Law enforcement officials dismantled a large-scale corruption scheme at the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Court in the Odesa region. There, decisions were made for $3,500 that allowed men of conscription age to evade mobilization and leave the country.
