Ukrainian officials, along with the European Commission, must maintain the stability of European regulations amid the threats posed by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.
He threatened to stop supplying electricity to Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made this announcement in his evening
statement.
Zelensky shared that he discussed this matter with Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
“I received details on electricity imports from the European Union to Ukraine via Slovakia – about 19% of the total volume. We are working with other EU neighbors,” he said.
At the same time, the president pointed out that he instructed Ukrainian officials to collaborate with the European Commission and other partners in Europe to maintain the stability of the unified European energy system and European energy regulations.
“No matter what Putin Fico said when he was in the Kremlin, European rules must be stronger than the connections of any individual with Moscow,” Zelensky emphasized.
He also highlighted that Ukraine is preparing several important personnel decisions.
“Decrees will be issued soon. I want to thank everyone who is helping!” he concluded.
Let us remind you that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted sharply to the threats made by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico regarding the halting of electricity supplies to our country if gas transit is not extended after January 1, 2025.
