The material damage caused by the Russians' explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station has reached approximately $14 billion.
This was
reported by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Svitlana Hrynchuk.
“In terms of the financial impact, nearly $14 billion has been assessed as damage resulting from the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam and the loss of these water resources,” she stated.
Hrynchuk noted that the volume of lost water resources is comparable to half of the reserves of certain African countries. This has also been significant for Ukraine, making the issue of water supply for affected regions still very relevant.
Earlier, Ukrainian law enforcement
announced suspicion against Russian General Oleg Makarevich, who ordered the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station a year ago.
On the anniversary of the explosion carried out by Russian terrorists at the Kakhovka HPP, Ukrhydroenergo
informed about the preparation of a lawsuit for international arbitration regarding this matter.
