A child tragically lost their life in a traffic accident in Dnipro.

As a result of the accident, a 10-year-old girl lost her life, reports the National Police of Ukraine.

Four other people, including two children, were injured and have been taken to the hospital.

According to law enforcement, the traffic accident occurred on December 1 at 19:45 near Naberezhna Zavodska Street. Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of a BMW collided with a Ford vehicle that was making a U-turn near the bus stop "Children's Combine."

The deceased girl was one of the passengers in the Ford, while the injured included the Ford's driver and three other passengers.

The police have detained the BMW driver. A criminal investigation has been initiated under part 2 of article 286 (violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles by individuals managing motor vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

A pre-trial investigation has commenced.
