Military personnel who have deserted their duty station for the first time have one month to return without facing criminal charges.
According to the new law, this can be done until January 1, 2025.
This was reported on air by Tatiana Sapyan, advisor to the director of the State Bureau of Investigations for Communications.
“If you have left the military unit (SVCh) as a serviceman, you have the opportunity to return to your unit from the end of November until January 1 of the new year, which is one month.
Once you return to your place of service, the commander has 72 hours to extend your contract or reinstate you in service.
Monetary, food, and clothing allowances will be resumed, along with benefits and social guarantees.
When a serviceman returns to his military unit, he is required to notify the pre-trial investigation authority or the military law enforcement service that he has returned to defend Ukraine's borders. This is the current course of action,” she explained.
Recently, the Verkhovna Rada fully
supported the bill on voluntary return to service for those who have previously deserted or left their military unit (SVCh) without permission.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky
signed the law that allows servicemen who have deserted or left their units without permission to voluntarily return to service.
