Former Deputy Prime Minister Kubrakov shared how he declined the position of head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

The new advisor to the Minister of Defense had other proposals, but he chose to join Umerov's team.
Экс-вице-премьер Кубраков поделился, почему не стал руководить Днепропетровской ОВА.

Former Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister for Community, Territory, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, stated that he was offered to replace Serhiy Lysak as the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration. Kubrakov shared this information in an interview with the publication "Babel", as reported by "Vidomo".

According to him, he chose to work as an advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov.

"Regarding the Dnipropetrovsk region – yes, I was offered to head the RMA, but I declined; as for the deputy minister of defense – no. I want to assist specifically in that format – as an advisor or consultant," he said.

At the same time, Kubrakov acknowledged that having influence over law enforcement agencies is crucial for the head of an RMA.

"Why didn’t I go to the Dnipropetrovsk administration? Because the people currently leading the administration are perfectly suited for this role. In this position, a background in law enforcement is essential. The effectiveness of their work depends 50-70% on interaction with law enforcement agencies," Kubrakov stated.

It is worth noting that Kubrakov was born in the Dnipropetrovsk region, in the city of Pershotravensk (now Shakhtarske), but did not hold any official positions in government authorities in the region, instead building his career in Kyiv, where he also studied. Before becoming a minister, he headed "Ukravtodor". He was dismissed from the position of Deputy Prime Minister in May 2024.

In early January, Umerov appointed him as an advisor, emphasizing that Kubrakov should assist in improving the supply and logistics system in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
