Wallet stolen and suspect fled: police in Dnipro have apprehended an individual connected to the robbery.

In Dnipro, the police apprehended a thief who stole a wallet and a phone from the victim. This was reported by "Vydomo" citing the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

On February 12, 2025, an urgent report was received at the duty station regarding a robbery that occurred on one of the streets in the Chechelovsky district of Dnipro. The victim was a 43-year-old local resident who reported an attack by an unknown man. According to the victim, the assailant took his wallet containing cash and bank cards, as well as his mobile phone, and then fled the scene.

An investigative team was dispatched to the scene. Law enforcement officials conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene, interviewed witnesses, and the victim himself. During the questioning, the 43-year-old man provided a detailed description of the attacker: approximate age, distinctive features, and clothing. This information became the starting point for operational search activities.

The police began an active search for the robber. During the operational work, it was established that the suspect is a 47-year-old man, previously convicted for similar crimes. However, determining his exact whereabouts was challenging, as the location of the offender was unknown.

On the same day, February 12, the suspect was found in one of the private houses on the outskirts of the Chechelovsky district. Upon his arrest, the suspect did not resist actively. He was found in possession of the stolen items from the victim: the wallet with bank cards (although the cash had already been spent) and the mobile phone. All seized items were documented and included in the materials of the criminal case.

The detained 47-year-old man was taken to the police department.

On February 13, 2025, investigators from the Dnipro District Police Department No. 1 informed the 47-year-old man of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery). This article prescribes a prison sentence of up to eight years.
