The director of the "Avangard" sports complex in Volnogorsk, Maxim Egorov, has been reprimanded after one of the players died during a football match, reports "Vidomo" citing vilnohirsk.in.ua.

The tragic incident occurred during a friendly mini-football match held in honor of Alexander Storozhko, when one of the tournament participants, Alexander Pisarevskiy, passed away. Relatives of Alexander shared that he was standing next to the football field, waiting for his turn to play. Suddenly, he felt unwell and collapsed.

According to the director of "Avangard," the tournament was not part of the planned events and was not organized by the administration.

By order of the mayor of Volnogorsk, the director of "Avangard" received a reprimand for failing to fulfill his official duties. Maxim Egorov was deprived of his bonus but was not subject to criminal liability.

Journalists also contacted the local police department to inquire about the details of the case.

"The autopsy revealed that the man died from heart failure. No criminal proceedings were initiated because he died due to his health condition," explained the deputy head of police department No. 4, Gennady Semenov.

Egorov commented on the situation, completely denying any wrongdoing. He claims that the reprimand was unjust and attributes the cause to strained relations with the Volnogorsk City Council.
